How do I hang my pictures on the wall without drilling?

Hanging a picture without hammering or drilling sounds ideal, of course. After all, drilling not only causes additional effort, but it also leaves damage on the wall. Usually, unsightly holes remain that can only be sealed again with putty. The question we at GAEKKO have therefore always asked ourselves: Is it possible to hang a picture without damaging the wall? Is it possible to fix pictures to the wall without drilling?

When drilling, you don’t want to get too close to electric cables in the wall. Many suppliers and well-known brands such as Tesa or Command have this in mind and therefore offer so-called adhesive hooks for pictures. You can also buy these products in any DIY store, for example Hornbach or Obi. With these self-adhesive picture hooks, you can simply stick your artwork to the wall. The adhesive hooks are also a modern and innovative way of attaching small decorative objects. Unfortunately, these adhesive hooks only hold a small weight and are completely unsuitable for larger or heavy objects.

Do the adhesive hooks also hold on a concrete wall?

Hello dear GAEKKO team,

I have massive walls made of reinforced concrete and for every nail, no matter how small, I always had to drill a hole in the wall with a hammer drill. I came across your self-adhesive hooks on the internet. However, I was worried about the grip. I didn’t want the adhesive hook to come off the wall over time and my picture to fall off the wall.
Now my pictures have been hanging securely on the wall for several years. Now I can finally attach a small picture or photo to wallpaper without having to drill large holes. The adhesive hook holds bombproof on my concrete wall. Easy to use and a great hold. I now use the self-adhesive hooks more often instead of a hammer and nail.

With all these adhesive methods, the main disadvantage is that removing the adhesive pad or power strip is likely to leave ugly marks on your wall or wallpaper. Sometimes a simple solution such as household tape or adhesive pads can give the desired result. Suction cups

With suction cups you can attach small picture frames to shop windows or smooth surfaces. Thanks to the high suction power, your pictures will stay where they belong for a long time. Of course, you can also use these suction cups to hang up towels. However, the suction power will weaken over time, which means that your pictures may fall off.

Self-adhesive hooks

These work just like adhesive tape, but are much less susceptible to damage to the wall and picture. Often, the matching pins are also supplied. Tesa and Command have these picture hooks in their range. However, due to the small adhesive surface, the hooks are not suitable for hanging photo and picture frames of any weight securely.
