What design should I choose for a kitchen? And what material should my artwork be made of?

As we all know, tastes differ and many people have difficulty choosing a pattern. In the room where you prepare your meals, it is naturally obvious that your designs revolve around the theme of food, drinks and cooking. Particularly popular patterns are, for example, coffee beans, fruits or vegetables. But herbs or spices are also popular kitchen images.

Of course, your kitchen pictures can also reflect your personal taste in food. If you have a preference for Italian food, for example, you can depict pasta, tomatoes or pizza in a photo. Of course, your frames don’t have to represent a food. Whatever you like will go on the wall.

If you want to hang a picture in the kitchen, you should use a washable material. Grease spills from cooking are less easily removed from canvas pictures or photo prints than from cardboard pictures. Therefore, acrylic glass pictures or pictures on Alu-Dibond or Forex are particularly suitable. But classic photo frames with glass and a mat are also suitable for kitchen wall design. What all these materials have in common is that they can be easily cleaned in case of problems during cooking.

This is how it works

This way, your picture will fit in the kitchen in a particularly harmonious way

First, you need to decide how many pictures you want to hang on the wall. If you arrange your artwork vertically, the walls of your kitchen will look higher, horizontal hangings will make the rooms wider. Combine what goes together, but let there be an underlying order. You should also make sure that your pictures are always hung on the wall at eye level. This is usually the case for a height of 1.55 m (measured from the floor).

Next, you need to think about the effect you want to achieve with the art on your wall. Either match the colors of your pictures to the color scheme of your kitchen, or deliberately put in color accents. In a black and white kitchen, for example, you can deliberately create a color contrast with a red pepperoni wall art. Another idea is to create a color contrast with a colorful frame.

Once you’ve found your design, you can think about hanging it and the perfect place in your home. If you have a small dining area with a counter or table in your kitchen, you can hang the wall art above the dining area. Even in small kitchens or kitchenettes, you can usually find a suitable place to hang a small frame.

You can also use the free space next to the door or window of the kitchen to decorate it with pictures. You can even decorate your kitchen work area with wall art. Want to buy modern canvas paintings? Our tip: Make sure, however, that each painting has enough space and is hung at a sufficient distance from a piece of furniture or other furnishings. Only with sufficient space will your works of art be shown to their best advantage and you will achieve a harmonious overall picture.

A simple and creative way to hang paintings, frames or framed photos is to use a picture rail. The chair rail can simply be mounted on a free wall space in the dining room and can then be refitted with photos of all kinds, again and again. The photos are simply placed on the chair rail and leaned loosely against the wall.
